I have a whole bunch of photos I need to save no larger than 60KB. I would like the resolution to stay at 300. Is there a better way than the trial-and-error method of the 1-12 quality window? Thanks! How can I save a Photoshop 7 file by KB size?
Unless someone knows an easier way....
it involves opening the file twice.
1) File--%26gt;Save for web.
2) In the Save for web window, you'll notice, toward the right, a small arrow pointing to the right (actually, there's two of them, click the one on the top).
3)Choose ';Optimize to file size';.
4) Enter your desired file size .
Since everything 'saved for web' is 72 dpi, you need to open it back up, go to ';image size'; under the ';image'; menu and change the resolution to 300 dpi. Make sure the ';Resample image'; box is NOT checked when you do this. You'll notice when you type 300 dpi the dimensions of your image changes proportionally.
