How would I change the color of a car to black or from black in Adobe Photoshop CS3?

I have been playing around with CS3 for a while and i've learned how to change colors of cars to pretty much anything except black. Also, if i try to start out with a black car, i just doesn't change correctly. Help?How would I change the color of a car to black or from black in Adobe Photoshop CS3?

They make using the Polygonal Lasso tool look alot easier than it is, but you will perfect it with a little practice. It's the only way to get crystal clear results.

Well with a lot of black cars there just won't be enough color information to change the color and not have it look a little strange. Here's an example I made from a black car I found, I used Hue / Sat with the colorize option.

selct the area u want to turn black, press ctrl + shift+ U on ur keyboard (this will turn the area black n white )





press ctrl + u and decrease the lightness of the image


and after that increase the contrast of the selected area !!!! thats it ...short method
