Change a colored photo into black and white photo by photoshop?

I would like to know how to change a colored photo into a black and white photo by using photoshop software. Besides, how to change a colored photo into black and white photo but still keep 1 feature of that photo colored.(Example:keep the lips red but all other features black and white).Thanks for sharing.Change a colored photo into black and white photo by photoshop?
Make 2 copies of your color picture. Change one of the pics to black and white then go to increase color depth to whatever million colors. go to your color picture, select what you want to stay colored then click cut go back to the b%26amp;w pic and click paste as a new layer then drag it to the correct spot. The click on merge layer down or flatten. voila that should do it, hope this helps. The easiest way to do that is make a selection of the portions where you want to keep the colors and layer via copy. Now go back to the layer below and select image - adjustments- desaturate. Thats it , ur job is done
for just turning the WHOLE picture black and white, just go to color saturation, and drop it down to zero.





I'm not sure about handling just one highlighted part of the photo, as I haven't used photoshop much.


I'm pretty sure you use one of the selecting tools (like the lasso), to verify the part of the picture that will be different from the rest, and put them on a separate layer, then work with each layer individually. Drop the color to zero on the one layer, and leave color on the other, then meld the two back together.
You will have the most control over a black and white conversion in Photoshop by using the channel mixer set to monochrome. If you want to keep one item in color but change the rest to b%26amp;w you will need to use selections and layers. Adobe Lightroom offers a very easy way to do this by desaturating all colors but that which you wish to retain.
