How much space does photoshop take up?

Im not talking about pictures, just the program by itself. Just to load the program. I am buying a laptop, and I want to make sure I will have lots of space for photoshop to load.

Thanks! How much space does photoshop take up?
Erm...you mean how large is the program, or how large is the process ( the usage it takes up on the cpu...)...

I have to say that most gaming computers are perfect for designers...

It should say how much disk space you need in the requirements section of the program...

Personally I would go with 4 gigs of ram, a raid, duel core processor ( 64 bit)...and a nice video card...I think that the geforce 8800 series is more stable than the 9900 series...so I would go for that one ( 612mb version)...

asus makes the best motherboards btw...but if you want a laptop, you will prolly have to go prefab...maybe you can talk with a sales rep who can find a laptop with similar stats. How much space does photoshop take up?
There is another option , you can get a portable version of photoshop. You do not install portable applications and as the name suggests you can take it anywhere with you if you have a memory stick etc. The space used on your hardrive would be no more than 250mb , although it will still use the same amount of ram when you are running the program.
I am sure that if you are buying a new laptop you will have absolutely plenty of space to spare. Phtoshop 7 only takes up about 4 gb, A new computer will probably have about 160 gb. You can have several versions of the complete Office suite, XP2002, XP2003, 2007, a couple of Operating systems goodness knows how many data files. Unless you download absolutely thousands of multimedia files, music, videos etc. I doubt very much you will run out of space.
To store photoshop, you'll only need 1B of free space on your Hard Drive.

To run Photoshop at a decent speed, you'll need 1.5GB/2GB of RAM.

Edit: Who downvoted me? The info is straight from Adobe's site, idiot!
