Is it possible to create an actual animated cartoon using photoshop?

Recently I have written a few scripts for a cartoon and am ready to start creating. The problem is i don't actually know if photoshop does the trick. Any advice? Is it possible to create an actual animated cartoon using photoshop?
I don't normally thumb down others responses but your question was in Photoshop - not flash, which would require you to purchase new software if you dont already have it.

The answer is yes.

Yes you can create animation in photoshop. Go to Window%26gt; Animation in MAC and in PC it is under your toolbars. A box at the bottom will show up where you can add cells.

You will draw a different image for each cell.

Draw your images separately (you can copy and paste parts) and do not start adding cells until all your drawing or it will turn into a mess!!

The downturn is the only way to save this is as a GIF. To save it go to save for web and make sure that by pressing play the cells still move.

Your animation in photoshop will be a little slower than the finished result.

The only way to open it and view it after this is in your webbrowser - not in photoshop

If your good at photoshop this feature wont take long to figure out.

Hope that helps! Is it possible to create an actual animated cartoon using photoshop?
You can bring photoshopped images into Flash. Use Flash.
Use Flash, which I think is also owned by Adobe, it's the best and most user friendly animation program on the market.
